Dodge will start taking orders Monday for Challenge

Monday, Dec. 3, is the first day Dodge dealers can take orders for the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 coupe. The cost is $37,995, including shipping charges, the Dodge boys said on Thursday. Cars will start arriving at dealerships next spring. Dodge plans several trim levels and powertrains–V6 and smaller-displacement V8 models–for the Challenger, but initially will offer only the high-performance SRT8 model. That means the car is packing a 6.1-liter Hemi V8 under the hood.
