Webber blames Hamilton for Fuji smash
Red Bull driver Webber, who was in a rare position to challenge McLaren's British rookie for the win at Fuji Speedway, retired from the race when Vettel crashed into him while the field circulated behind the safety car.
Vettel, who was penalized ten grid places by the stewards for the incident, was immediately blasted as a "kid" by 31-year-old Webber.
But the German, third in the queue behind Webber at the time, argued that he had been distracted by Hamilton's erratic driving, including a dramatic swerve to the right.
"It definitely contributed to Sebastian hitting me up the back because he (Hamilton) wasn't doing what he was supposed to be doing, clearly," Webber told a news conference in Shanghai on Thursday.
"He spoke in the drivers' meeting about how good a job he was going to do and he did the opposite. Still, we know for next time."
Webber described the Fuji incident as "one of the lowest points" in his entire career, made worse by food poisoning that caused him to vomit in his helmet in the opening stages of the rain-drenched race.
He insisted that he was genuinely in with a shot of winning, "and it was taken away not even in a racing incident".
"It was very, very hard to swallow," said the Australian. "It's under the bridge, it's gone and we'll never get that back."
