F1 in movie theaters

Last Sunday’s Formula 1 Grand Prix from Monza was broadcast in selected cinemas across the UK, presented by SportVision Media.

The high definition race coverage, which uses used Dolby 5.1 surround sound, will be rolled out for the rest of the Grand Prix season.

"Formula 1 in cinema is a fantastic new way for fans to enjoy their favorite sport, said SuperVision Media chairman John Webber. “The excitement of Formula 1 and the intensity of the cinema experience are perfect for each other. It’s the next best thing to being at the race."

From the 2008 season, Formula 1 in cinema will be available on 250 screens across Europe and over 200 in North and South America. Expansion into Asia is scheduled for 2009.
