HarperCollins million-pound gamble on Hamilton

HarperCollins are making a million-pound gamble that Formula One superstar Lewis Hamilton will succeed where football icon Wayne Rooney failed in giving them a sports bestseller. The publishers have paid a seven-figure advance for the life story so far of the World Championship leader. Lewis Hamilton: My Story will be rushed out on November 5 — just nine weeks after the deal was agreed — to ensure HC maximize sales from the McLaren driver's bid to win the title in his rookie season.
