Bernie confident Indian GP will happen

Bernie Ecclestone is confident Formula 1 will finally soon have a race in India.

The F1 supremo told ITV Sport at the Kingfisher party in Istanbul on Saturday evening that after years of speculation, a first race in the emerging market was becoming more likely.

“I’ve been trying to put something together there for years," he told Ted Kravitz.

“Vijay [Kingfisher CEO, Mallya] and I have been talking for 20-odd years, so maybe this time we will get it going."

And when Ted asked what the chances of a race finally being put together, Ecclestone added: “Very good – this time we’ll pull it off." ITV.com/F1
