Ralf still yet to find home on 2008 grid

UPDATE It seems that Ralf Schumacher's future is still in doubt. During the Friday press conference at Istanbul Park, John Howett declared that the team has a contract with Jarno Trulli but that they are still studying the driver market for the other race seat. Howett also made clear that Schumacher is still on the list.

John Howett said: "I guess it’s no secret, really. Jarno has a contract and we’re in discussion with Ralf and we’re studying the driver market and Ralf is still definitely on our list. He’s doing a very good job at the moment, as we’ve seen in the last two or three races and we’re just not prepared at this moment to make a decision which is very tough and I have a great deal of personal sympathy with Ralf but that’s the position. We’re waiting to see what moves and I can assure you that Ralf is on our list. We feel that we can wait longer."

08/22/07 (GMM) Ralf Schumacher is still yet to find a formula one home for the 2008 season.

The German and six-time grand prix winner is hoping to keep his Toyota seat, but his chances took a knock after a disastrous first half of this year.

32-year-old Schumacher reportedly turned to his former BMW colleague Gerhard Berger for a back-up plan, but Toro Rosso has now signed Sebastien Bourdais and Sebastian Vettel for 2008.
