Depth added at Dale Coyne Racing

Plainfield, Illinois….. Dale Coyne Racing has expanded its engineering team in preparation for the European swing. After a season that has seen solid performances by Bruno Junqueira and Katherine Legge, Dale Coyne Racing has made some additions and reorganized to its Engineering staff.

Joining the team will be engineer David Morgan of Warlingham, England. David brings an extensive background, working with the Coyne team in several previous seasons. David is not only an accomplished engineer, but also enjoyed a great driving career that included a Formula 1 race at Silverstone in 1975. In 2005, David was part of the engineering staff that saw Robert Kubica dominate the World Formula Renault Championship. Earlier this year, Mr. Morgan lent his support to Dale Coyne Racing for the Toronto event as well as subsequent shaker rig and track testing. “We have worked with David on many projects and with several drivers over the years. I am excited to have him back on board with us to continue the exciting season that Bruno is enjoying," commented team owner Dale Coyne.

David Morgan will be chief engineer on Bruno Junqueira’s #19 Sonny’s Bar-B-Q entry starting this weekend in Zolder, Belgium. “David was with us at Toronto, and I really like what he brings to the team," commented driver Bruno Junqueira.

With the addition of Morgan, Adam Schaechter will become head engineer for Katherine Legge’s #11 entry. Adam has done a masterful job of keeping Bruno competitive all year. “I really like Katherine and she has shown some very competitive moments this year," reports Schaechter. “I look forward to both of our drivers having a strong finish to the season."

Stefan Dwornik will be co-engineer liaison on both cars. Stefan has done an excellent job with Katherine in 2007. Stefan has also been a long time Dale Coyne Racing engineer, most noted for the strong showing and nearly double wins with Alex Barron in late 2000. Katherine had her first P1 at Sebring with Stefan and showed several strong performances at Las Vegas, Long Beach, Edmonton and San Jose to name a few.

In addition to the engineering additions and reorganization, Dale Coyne Racing took delivery of a third Panoz chassis just before loading for Europe. “It was good to get a third car, the Panoz people did an excellent job delivering a car on short notice," reported Coyne. “While for this trip it is going in sections, it gives us a full contingent of spares for our first off Continent excursion with the new cars."

Hard at work, the engineering department took both primary cars to a Rig test this past week in Indianapolis prior to loading for the trip to Europe. The team is now at Zolder preparing for this weekends inaugural race.
