FIA books date for second McLaren appeal

(GMM) The International Court of Appeal will hear McLaren's appeal against docked championship points on September 19, governing body the FIA announced on Friday.

The Paris hearing is set to take place just six days after the espionage saga appeal, which also involves Ron Dennis' Woking based team.

The September 19 hearing was requested by McLaren licensee the British 'Motor Sports Association', concerning stewards' decision to deprive the team of constructors' points at the recent Hungarian grand prix.

In addition to moving Fernando Alonso five places back for a qualifying pit stop incident at the Hungaroring, stewards did not accept McLaren's explanation and also penalized the team.

"In the interests of transparency the hearing will be open to members of the press and details of the accreditation procedure will be published closer to the time," an FIA statement on Friday read.
