NASCAR fines Biffle

In response to a NASCAR penalty issued late yesterday for failing to fulfill his post-race media obligations this past Saturday night, following the NASCAR Busch Series race at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Greg Biffle released this statement.

"First and foremost, I would like to apologize to the media who were present in the press box at ORP last weekend. I talked to every reporter on pit road which included television, radio and print. I also offered to stay and speak to any other media member at the track. I believe there was a misunderstanding on my part as to how we would be getting to the press box and at the time it seemed that we would be trying to walk in the opposite direction of thousands of fans trying to exit the grandstands. I want to be clear that I was very excited about the second place finish and was in no hurry to leave, it just seemed unreasonable at the time to try to get to the press box as the grandstands were emptying in the opposite direction. I have always been a big supporter of the NASCAR Busch Series and willing to help promote the series in any way. I understand the importance of the media obligations related to participation in all NASCAR Series and once again apologize to anyone who may have felt slighted this weekend at ORP."
