Ferrari boss merciless as spy hearing starts

(GMM) Luca di Montezemolo on Thursday made it abundantly clear whose side he is on as McLaren faced the FIA's World Motor Sport Council on spy charges.

As the emergency meeting kicked off this morning, the Ferrari president was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport: "My body is in Maranello but my thoughts are in Paris.

"We absolutely must expose disloyal behavior in formula one."

McLaren chairman Ron Dennis, unfamiliarly dressed in a tailored suit, was swamped by reporters and cameramen as he arrived at Place de la Concorde, as was his Ferrari counterpart Jean Todt a few moments later.

Bernie Ecclestone and FIA president Max Mosley soon followed.

An outcome is expected on Thursday afternoon.
