NASCAR weekly cheating report

NASCAR officials announced today that two crew chiefs have been fined for violations found during the Busch Series race weekend at Gateway International Raceway. Doug Chouinard, crew chief of the No. 03 Toyota driven by Todd Bodine, and Chuck Meyers, crew chief of the No. 1 Chevrolet driven by J.J. Yeley, were each penalized for violations found during opening-day inspection. Chouinard was fined $5,000 for a violation involving the thickness of the throttle shaft and throttle plate being less than 0.197 inch. Meyers was fined $500 for a violation involving fuel-cell foam not used as provided by the manufacturer and open areas cut out of foam.
