Edmonton: Doornbos leads morning warm-up

After a disappointing qualifying run for Champ Car point leader Robert Doornbos was hoping that Sunday would bring him better fortune and if the warm-up session is any omen, it looks like his weekend will get back on track just in time for today's main event. The Minardi Team USA driver recorded the fastest lap of the session with a revolution of 58.675 (121.053 mph) around City Center Airport.

Provisional pole sitter Sebastien Bourdais was second to the Dutchman recording a lap of 58.808 (120.779 mph) in his McDonald's entry. Alex Tagliani posted the third best time of the session while Simon Pagenaud and Justin Wilson rounded out the top five. While polesitter Will Power turned in the ninth quick lap in the session in his Aussie Vineyards racing machine.

The session was brought to a premature end as Katherine Legge made contact in her Dale Coyne car with the wall in Turn 8 with less than three minutes left in the session.
