Winkelhock did good job – Spyker’s Sutil

(GMM) Markus Winkelhock did a good job in his first practice session as a formula one race driver.

That was the insistence on Friday of his teammate, Spyker's impressive German rookie, Adrian Sutil.

Countryman Winkelhock, 27, was the slowest car in the morning 90-minute session at the Nurburgring despite completing 8 more laps than Sutil.

His gap to Sutil, who experienced an hydraulic problem, was nearly eight tenths.

But 24-year-old Sutil, who usually outpaced Winkelhock's predecessor Christijan Albers in 2007, said of Winkelhock: "I think he did a good job this morning.

"He should be completely happy with it," he told the sport's German broadcaster Premiere.

Winkelhock has only a few hours of testing under his belt this season and he came to the Nurburgring after racing last week for Spyker principal Colin Kolles' DTM team.

"That is not so simple," Sutil explained, "but I am sure he will be right with it in the second practice. He also knows this circuit really well so that should be a help as well.
