Klien to test for Spyker at Spa
Team Principal Colin Kolles however stressed that no decision had been taken regarding the race driver position for the rest of the season. Twenty-four year old Austrian Klien added, 'I am very happy to have been invited to test for Spyker in Spa, one of my favorite tracks, and to have the opportunity to work with a team which is determined to make progress this season. The Honda Racing F1 Team will allow its Reserve and Test Driver Christian Klien to take part in a one-day test with the Spyker Formula One Team in Spa this week.
Whilst Honda's first priority is its 2007 development program, it has always placed great emphasis on supporting its young drivers. As the current testing regulations have restricted Christian's mileage this year, Honda wishes to allow Christian as many opportunities as possible to develop his abilities.
Christian will test with Spyker on Thursday, the final day of Spyker's three-day test program.
Gil de Ferran, Sporting Director of the Honda Racing F1 Team, commented: "Christian has had limited time in the car this year as a result of the testing regulations. This test with Spyker could lead to him returning to a race seat and those opportunities do not come along often.
