Spy duo no longer in running for Honda jobs

(GMM) Team boss Nick Fry has confirmed that the figures at the centre of the Ferrari-McLaren espionage scandal are no longer in the running for jobs at Honda.

"I think that's unlikely," Fry told reporters at Silverstone when asked about the obviously tarnished reputations of Nigel Stepney and Mike Coughlan might still being considered to help bolster struggling Honda's technical lineup.

As speculation intensified earlier this weekend, Fry had to admit that he had met with the accused pair before they were accused of sending and receiving confidential files.

He said on Sunday: "From our point of view they were just two people on a much longer list of people who were spoken to.

"They applied to us wanting to be considered for jobs, and it is as simple as that."

[Editor's Note: Mission accomplished for Ferrari as by smearing his name they have now stopped Stepney from being hired by anyone and taking Ferrari secrets with him.]
