Vettel – ‘I want to race’ in 2008

(GMM) Sebastian Vettel on Thursday would not be drawn on rumours this week that he is heading for a race seat at Toro Rosso in 2008.

With BMW-Sauber looking to field an unchanged lineup next year, it was reported that the team's promising reserve driver Vettel, who is 20, could be loaned to STR for up to two seasons.

On the eve of the British grand prix at Silverstone, however, Vettel gave little away but interestingly refused to deny the story.

"I am not worried," the German is quoted as saying by the news agency Sport-Informations-Dienst.

"We have not spoken about anything yet in the sense that I can say anything about it now."

Vettel insisted: "It is still fairly early in the season. But it is clear that every racing driver wants to race."

When substituting for the injured Robert Kubica at Indianapolis, the then teenaged Vettel scored a point on debut with eighth place.
