Champ Car first to offer iPhone downloads

In partnership with 29HD Network, the Champ Car World Series was the first to have a non-Apple video site for the Apple iPhone, the new combination widescreen iPod, mobile phone and Internet device taking the world by storm.

The Champ Car World Series iPhone video site was launched 30 minutes before the device first became available on Friday.

iPhone owners can go to www.ccws2.com/i and click on any title and immediately watch the related video as it starts to download into the iPhone. With access to WiFi, the Apple iPhone allows quick video downloads and the high bit-rate encoding of the Champ Car World Series videos gives the user a vibrant and thrilling racing experience.

The site showcases the latest videos from the Champ Car World Series, including previews, recaps, interviews with drivers and short video capsules of the latest races. This site will be updated regularly with the best from the Champ Car World Series for fans to watch on the go.

29HD Network has been regularly featuring Champ Car World Series videos on its over 40 Auto and Racing Broadband2.0 video sites and video feeds. The video feeds are formatted to play in several portable video platforms, including iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP, Zen, and Apple TV. According to Ninan Kurien of 29 HD Network, over 750,000 Champ Car World Series videos have been downloaded through their video sites over the last two months.
