Theissen thinks Ralf’s career is safe
Sir Frank Williams, who gave the now 32-year-old a cockpit between 1999 and 2004, said last month that he thought Schumacher's lackluster performances this year means that his career "is coming to an end".
But BMW's Mario Theissen, who worked alongside Williams throughout most of Ralf's team tenure, told Sport-Informations-Dienst that he thinks his German countryman can bounce back from his uncompetitive current form.
"He is clearly driving beneath his value this year," Theissen agreed. "I do not know the details, but I do believe that he will still be with us (in formula one) next year."
Toyota's new team principal Tadashi Yamashina, meanwhile, put an arm around Schumacher on Sunday by saying that he put in a "competitive performance" despite not scoring points at Magny Cours.
"His performance was very good and you could see from his lap times that we had the pace to finish much higher," he said.
