Foyt’s foreign driver nabs USAC pole

Looks like AJ Foyt does not believe in American drivers. After living through nightmare years with his grandson, AJ Foyt IV, one can see why. Pablo Donoso captured his first career USAC Silver Crown Series pole on Friday in qualifying at Richmond International Raceway. Donoso, of Santiago, Chile, put A.J. Foyt's C&R/Chevy on the pole for Saturday’s 100-lap race with a lap of 127.914 mph.

A.J. Fike, Brian Tyler, Mike Murgoitio and Jerry Coons Jr. rounded out the top five. Series points leader Aaron Pierce will start 12th – marking his worst start of the season. Saturday’s Silver Crown race will take the green flag at 5:15 p.m. (ET)
