Busy week for Red Bull

Racing drivers are never really happy unless they are winning, which at every Grand Prix turns out to have been an unrealistic target for all but one of them, so it’s fair to say that Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber was more than relieved than happy to have finally clocked up some all important points to open up his scorecard in his debut season for the Milton Keynes based squad.

The Australian racer secured two points after successfully finishing in seventh place overall at the Indy circuit on Sunday afternoon and he is now hoping that this is a sign of more to come as the F1 circus heads into the long hot European summer, that will see a run of races on some of the more famous race tracks in the world.

“I’m actually very pleased with that," Mark said. “We’ve had a bit of tricky weekend so far, so it was good to get some extra time on the track in today’s third qualifying session. It’s encouraging. It’s very, very tight in the middle group and, as this is quite an easy track to over-drive, you’ve got to be a bit patient here, which isn’t easy for guys like us!"

However, there is no time to rest as there is a busy week ahead for the Red Bull Racing crew. After the race was over on Sunday night, packing went on until late into the night, while their two race drivers rushed back to the UK to take part in the biggest test session of the year that will get underway at the Silverstone Circuit tomorrow. Mark will complete the first two days of the test while David will take over for the third and final day on Thursday.

When all this work is over, the weekend will see the team send a car down to Goodwood in the south of England, for the Festival of Speed, where Michael Ammermuller will be completing some display runs.
