No civil war at Ferrari – Massa

(GMM) While the press fixates on an apparent 'civil war' at McLaren, Felipe Massa in Indianapolis insisted that harmony exists at Ferrari.

The Brazilian's teammate this year is 'iceman' Kimi Raikkonen, who is not renowned for forming melodious relationships with his former colleagues at McLaren and Sauber.

According to recent press speculation, meanwhile, a split was beginning to form inside the Maranello based team's pits, with Raikkonen on one side and Massa closely cooperating with Ferrari 'advisor' Michael Schumacher.

But Massa insisted on Thursday: "Kimi and I cooperate very well — 100 per cent.

"I know him better now than at the beginning of the season, and even though he doesn't talk too much, we have a good relationship and we do a professional job for the team."

Ferrari arrives in the US after two poor results in Montreal and Monaco.

Massa said: "We must try to reduce the gaps starting from now.

"I do not how difficult or simple that will be, because I have no idea what goes on inside the Alonso-Hamilton camp, but I do know the effort that we are putting in at Ferrari."

Finn Raikkonen, meanwhile, insisted that he does not feel isolated at Ferrari.

He said at Indianapolis: "I know that I am supported in exactly the same way as my teammate, but he has simply had the better results so far."

Kimi was also asked about Nick Heidfeld's comments here that BMW-Sauber may have now moved ahead of Ferrari in the 2007 hierarchy.

He responded: "We have known since the beginning of the season that they are very strong, especially Nick.

"But here I expect a very close fight between us and McLaren."
