NASCAR cars slow as pigs in Montreal

Two-time Nextel Cup Champion Terry Labonte completed the first laps in a stock car at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal on Tuesday, as part of NASCAR's preparations for their Busch Series race at the same venue in August.

The fastest lap recorded by Labonte in ideal weather conditions was 1:49.86 – around 34 seconds slower than the pole position time set by Lewis Hamilton last Saturday during qualifying for the Formula One Grand Prix of Canada.

In other words the F1 car would lap the NASCAR stock car every 3.23 laps. No wonder they call them Taxi cabs. We know Montreal fans and they love their F1. When they see how slow NASCAR is they'll likely to fall asleep.

What do open wheel drivers who can't win in open wheel anymore do? They go drive in NASCAR (Jourdain, Carpentier, Montoya, Villeneuve, etc) where everything happens real SLOW.
