FOX, SPEED providing in-depth TV coverage of USGP

FOX Sports and SPEED will provide complete television coverage of the United States Grand Prix Formula One race, qualifying and practice sessions June 14-17 from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Live Race Day coverage of the USGP begins at 1 p.m. (ET) Sunday, June 17 on FOX.

SPEED will air four hours of practice live from 10-11:30 a.m. and again from 1-3:30 p.m. Friday, June 15. A combined practice and qualifying show will be televised on SPEED from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16.

Commentators for both networks covering the United States Grand Prix will be Bob Varsha, play-by-play; David Hobbs and Steve Matchett, analysis and color commentary; and Peter Windsor, pit reporter. Sam Posey, former Formula One and Indianapolis 500 competitor, also will provide feature commentary.

SPEED also is providing USGP fans with a special on the race at noon Thursday, June 14. Speed's on-air personalities will conduct interviews with Formula One drivers and officials.

"This is the rare chance to have both the SPEED talent and Formula One's greatest stars together in the same setting," said Rick Miner, SPEED senior vice president of Production & Network Operations. "The response to last year's pre-race show was overwhelming, so this year's should be even better. You don't want to miss this broadcast if you're a Formula One fan – especially of you want to see your favorite driver in a more candid and relaxed environment."

United States Grand Prix spectators and Indianapolis-area residents can listen to the race live beginning at 12:30 p.m. on radio station WIBC-AM 1070 with coverage provided by the IMS Radio Network. IMS Radio Network's USGP coverage team is Mike King, host; Dan Knutson and Kevin Lee will announce from the booth; Chris Denari, Bob Jenkins, Mark Jaynes and Jerry Baker will serve as course announcers; and Dave Wilson will report from the paddock.

ESPN2 will televise highlights from the Liberty Challenge Indy Pro Series races, which will take place at 3:45 p.m. June 16 and 8:35 a.m. June 17 at the United States Grand Prix, on a tape-delayed basis at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 21.
