According to the Panasonic Toyota Formula 1 team, automatic and precise movements, reactivity and strong team spirit are crucial requirements for the pit stop crew in Formula 1. Up to three times a race, the 50 active members of the two Panasonic Toyota Formula 1 pit crews are called into action to fit new Bridgestone tires, refuel and carry out emergency repairs on Ralf Schumacher’s and Jarno Trulli’s racecars. The pit crew spends hours practicing their technique to save fractions of a second, giving the drivers the best chance for victory. See video on our home page.
