Peugeot drivers prepare for LeMans

With just days to go before the Le Mans 24 Hours preliminary test day on June 3, Peugeot's drivers have been busy working out during a week-long fitness training session at La Baule in southern Brittany, France.

As planned in their 2007 diaries, Marc Gene, Pedro Lamy, Nicolas Minassian and Stéphane Sarrazin have been taking part this week in a fitness training course with a view to being in tip-top shape for their season's highlight, the Le Mans 24 Hours (June 16-17).

Hosted in La Baule by the Lucien Barrière Group, Peugeot's Le Mans Series foursome have been working out under the supervision of fitness trainer Xavier Feuillé and osteopath Jean-Pierre Buisson during a program that has alternated between exercises and games. "It's not an intensive physical fitness course," underlines Team Manager Serge Saulnier. "It's more an exercise in team spirit aimed at bonding the drivers and running them in gently for the mission they face over the next few weeks…"

Activities included swimming, breath-holding, cycling, weightlifting, golf and tennis. Marc, Pedro, Nicolas and Stéphane got in a little sailing, too, in Dragon-class yachts skippered by the likes of former Olympic medalist Yves Pageot. They also took time to have a little fun wakeboarding.

At the end of next week, they will be in Le Mans for the official test day which builds up to the 24-hour race itself and where they will be joined by their respective Le Mans team-mates Jacques Villeneuve, who currently has engagements in Canada, and Sébastien Bourdais who is busy with his Champ Car commitments in the USA.
