ISC headquarter upgrades

International Speedway Corp. will be turning its Daytona headquarters – right across the street from Daytona International Speedway – into a $250 million shopping-entertainment-hotel complex.

ISC and Cordish Co., the developer that put together the revitalized Baltimore Harbor complex, will develop a 71-acre site next to the Speedway with shops, a movie theater, condominiums and a 160-room hotel. The development will include offices for ISC and NASCAR, both of which are controlled by the France family.

The project is still in the planning stages. ISC will provide the land, and it and Cordish will contribute $15 million-$20 million each for the project, with investors providing the rest.

Cordis builds entertainment-related complexes including two Hard Rock Cafés in Florida. The company plans to build a chain of NASCAR-themed restaurants. Winston-Salem Journal
