Another Aussie Racer Making His Mark On US Soil

With so much attention focused on Australian Champ Car driver Will Power and his 3rd podium in the last four Champ Car races who would have noticed there was another Australian driver quietly making an impact in US motorsport.

Marcus Ambrose currently sits 8th in NASCAR Busch Series championship points and is currently the top non-Nextel Cup driver. As the Australian V8 Supercar champion of 2003 and 2004, Ambrose was credited with reviving Ford Racing in Australia where Holden had dominated for years. He moved to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2006 driving for Team Australia and sponsor Aussie Vineyards. Despite missing the first three races of the season, he was 3rd in rookie standings.

This season he is driving the #59 for Woods Brothers/JTG Racing with a strong portfolio of sponsors. There are also plans to run him in the Nextel-Cup Series at Sonoma and Watkins Glen. Orange County Register
