Radio LeMans back on air
The station’s website www.radiolemans.com has gone through a winter redesign and re-launches today (11th April).
Last year the site attracted over 1.4 million visitors in race week alone.
Although the station is best known for coverage of Le Mans race week, the team will be on hand at the test weekend on June 2nd and 3rd. Indeed it may surprise the station’s supporters that, in association with partners Globecast, there is a full-time 24-hours a day, 365-day a year radio feed on the website.
“Radio Le Mans dot com is about so much more than just the 24-Hour race" said John Hindhaugh. “We are constantly on the lookout for other events and coverage that will be of relevance to our audience. Listeners to Radio Le Mans in June share interests and a lifestyle. The website and our other radio events reflect that over the whole of the rest of the year."
Sportscar enthusiasts can hear comprehensive live coverage of practice, qualifying and the race from every ALMS event. Every Wednesday there’s a two-hour motorsport chat show hosted by Hindhaugh.
“Of course with John involved there’s plenty of news and interviews from the sportscar world," said producer Tim Gray, “but recent guests have included Dan Weldon from IndyCar, Dan Clarke form Champ Car, our somewhat irreverent F1 coverage and there lots of interaction with the listeners." Midweek Motorsport is live every Wednesday at 8pm UK time, repeated at 2am Thursday and then available as a download on demand via a link on the Radio Le Mans site
Visitors to www.radiolemans.com site can access the audio archive of last year’s race, plus a comprehensive back-catalogue of ALMS events. There’s also a look back at the history of the event as every race since 1923 is reviewed by Charles Dressing.
