France released from hospital

Bill France Jr. is back home after spending time in a Florida hospital last week, NASCAR officials confirmed Tuesday. France was admitted to the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach last Wednesday, reportedly for treatment of a virus. France, 73, retains an active role in NASCAR, going to his office regularly to keep tabs on the sport. He remains NASCAR's vice chairman and is also chairman of the board of track operator International Speedway Corp.
