Underscoring NASCAR's drop in popularity was the sight of more bare aluminum in the grandstands of a Nextel Cup race at Atlanta Sunday than has been seen in the last 20 years for NASCAR. The photo to the right of Robby Gordon's Ford does not begin to show just how bad it really was. Sunday featured another one of NASCAR's late race debris cautions to help a low on fuel Jimmie Johnson….who just happened to be driving the Kobalt Tools Chevy and this was the Kobalt Tools 500. Johnson won. The fans are getting tired of NASCAR's "managed" racing to placate sponsors. At that point it no longer is a sport, but a show.
