Bourdais lowers Champ Car record

Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing driver Sebastien Bourdais lowered the Champ Car lap record Saturday morning to 1m06.380s on the 11-turn, 2.238 mile Laguna Seca Raceway in his No. 1 McDonald's car. That is just a whisker shy of the outright lap record set last August by Ricardo Zonta in the latest Toyota F1 TF106 car of 1m06.309s. We'll see if someone can beat it this afternoon.
