Holmatro Becomes The Title Sponsor of Safety Team

Long a key component of the Champ Car Safety Team, Holmatro Rescue Tools have taken the next step for 2007, becoming the title sponsor of what will now be known as the Holmatro Safety Team.

The Holmatro Safety Team is the longest-running and most-celebrated quick-response safety team in all of motorsports, providing at-track support at every Champ Car race since its 1984 inception. The program has expanded dramatically over the years in terms of staff, equipment and technology in an effort to provide Champ Car participants the finest and most adept care in sports. The staff of 40 professionals and specially equipped vehicles is unique to the sport, placing the Holmatro Safety Team at the forefront of motor racing safety.

Holmatro has played a key part in the successes of the Safety Team for 17 years, providing its own state-of-the-art rescue and extraction equipment to Champ Car along with the technical expertise to help the series’ medical professionals gain the knowledge necessary to use the tools in the best way possible. This season will see the introduction of Holmatro’s Core Technology products to Champ Car, making the top motorsports safety team in the world even better.

Officials, drivers and others have credited the Holmatro Safety Team with significant contributions toward improvement of the sport’s safety record. The Holmatro Safety Team has been recognized for its contributions to Champ Car racing, receiving the Simple Green Recognition for Excellence in Safety Award in 2001, the Championship Auto Racing Teams Directors Award in 1985 and the Indy Lights Championship Fred Rhue Meritorious Service Award in 1988.
