Champ Car names Cathie Lyon
Lyon, who has been a vital part of the Champ Car World Series since 1989, will take over responsibility for partner services, and will be working closely with all of the series sponsors, partners and suppliers.
“We are very fortunate to have someone with Cathie’s abilities and knowledge on our staff and we are confident that she will be a great addition to our partner services department," said Champ Car President Steve Johnson. “Her deep experience with Champ Car and her interaction with our partners through the Fast Lap program, will allow her to jump right in and do a great job."
Lyon came to Champ Car as an assistant in the public relations department, moving her way into the head of the accreditation department, where she served for 10 seasons. Most recently, Lyon has been the director of the Pace Car and two-seater programs at the track, giving thousands of fans the thrill ride of a lifetime in the pace cars or the two-seat Champ Cars. Lyon will continue to oversee the pace-car program along with her partner services duties
