Vegas GP Poker event to start
Presented in the historical Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel, the event will begin with daily satellites on Thursday, Feb. 22. Satellite winners will qualify for the Everyman Main Event to be held race week, Monday, April 2, through Friday, April 6, in the world-famous Benny’s Bullpen, the original home of the World Series of Poker. Â
One of the highlights of the week will be the celebrity poker event Saturday, April 7, also being held in Benny’s Bullpen, benefiting Vegas Grand Prix charities via the Jenyon Foundation, Inc. The celebrity poker tournament will tout celebrities from the entertainment and poker world and be broadcast live athttp://www.pokernetcast.com . Â
The celebrity tournament offers players the opportunity to play with celebrities and professional poker players such as Patrik Antonius, Robert Williamson III, Marcel Luske and Hoyt Corkins. The $10,000 buy-in will fund a tournament prize pool and Vegas Grand Prix charities via the Jenyon Foundation, Inc. Â
During the final week, the tournament can accommodate up to 1,000 players daily, potentially making it the largest field ever in downtown Las Vegas with a significant prize pool. Â
