Conquest to run 1, maybe 2 cars in 2007

Robin Miller wrote an article on SPEEDTV.com saying that Eric Bachelart had found a sponsor and would run one Champ Car in 2007 so we phoned Eric today to find out more.

"We've been talking to a sponsor in New York for quite some time and it finally came together on Friday," the Conquest Racing owner told AutoRacing1.com. "It is a new sponsor to racing and we will announce it soon. We definitely will be able to run one Champ Car and two Atlantic cars this year.

"We are still trying to do a second Champ Car but right now that is a stretch, but you never know," added Bachelart. We are talking to a number of drivers including Andrew Ranger and Charles Zwolsman but I have a list of drivers I started to call this morning that had contacted us over the winter.

"We definitely will be at the Houston test. The car has been ready since before Sebring. I just cannot tell you who we will test in Houston just yet."
