Today, on 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis Kyle Busch said that if he wins this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship, he would like to run the 100th Indianapolis 500 next May.

Busch has to our knowledge not discussed the idea of running the Indy 500, publicly at least in the past. Of course his brother Kurt Busch ran the 2014 Indy 500 for Andretti Autosport, finishing an impressive 6th. However, reports have suggested that team owner Joe Gibbs has told Busch he could run the 500 only if he won the NASCAR title. Therefore, Busch’s suggestion that he might run IF he wins the championship would appear to confirm previous reports.
