Liberty Motorsports makes its lone journey ‘North of the Border’ this weekend (June 12-13), when its talented F2000 Championship Series driver line-up takes to Mosport International Raceway in Canada for Rounds Five and Six of the 14-race title fight. Series veteran Bobby Caldwell will be joined under the Illinois-based team’s awning by team newcomer Zach Craigo and current championship runner-up Cole Morgan.

While Liberty Motorsports will be without two of its highly rated drivers – both Brian Belardi and Tim Kautz are missing the Canadian doubleheader due to business commitments – in Rounds Five and Six, the squad certainly as the talent behind the wheels to exit the high-speed Mosport road course with one or two winner’s trophies.

Due to scheduling conflicts with his regular team, Morgan will make the switch to a Liberty Motorsports prepared Van Diemen during the Canadian doubleheader. The former series champion from Florida is excited to be working with the Illinois-based crew, and believes they will give him all the tools to add another victory – having previously won Round Two at VIRginia International Raceway – to his 2010 resume. Morgan currently lies second in the championship fight after four races.

Craigo, a former SCCA Formula Continental standout, will make his 2010 racing debut with Liberty Motorsports at Mosport, having recently signed with the squad. Piloting the No. 85 Rocky Mountain Medical Lasers Inc./Strahan Colorado Whiskey/Liberty Motorsports Van Diemen, the Colorado native will contest the remainder of the 2010 F2000 Championship Series campaign with Liberty Motorsports seeking to challenge for both wins and Rookie of the Year honors.

For Caldwell, Rounds Five and Six at Mosport will be another opportunity to showcase his talents behind the wheel. Having battled some mechanical issues and bad luck early in the season, the No. 80 Liberty Motorsports racer from Indiana likes the high-speed nature of the Canadian track, and has his sights set on running at the front of the large field.

All three racers will benefit from some extra help outside of the cockpit during the third event of the 2010 season, as current Star Mazda Championship front-runner and former F2000 Championship Series champion Anders Krohn will be on-hand acting as the Liberty Motorsports driver coach all weekend. The Norwegian, who holds the series record for wins, will work with all three drivers to ensure they get the most from their cars and themselves at the challenging road course just outside of Toronto, Ont.

“Mosport is a very fast and exciting track for the drivers, and the entire team is looking forward to it," commented Chuck Lessick, Liberty Motorsports’ Team Manager. “Our driver line-up this weekend is very strong, and with Krohn on the coaching duties, I’m sure we’ll be in the hunt."

The on-track action for Liberty Motorsports and the rest of the F2000 Championship Series field commences on Friday (June 11), with two 45-minute test sessions at Mosport International Raceway. Saturday (June 12) will feature a morning practice session, followed by a 30-minute qualifying session just prior to the lunch break. The green flag for Round Five is scheduled to wave at 2:50 p.m. local time. One day later, the grid for Round Six will be set by a morning qualifying run, prior to the race action getting underway at 11:45 a.m. local time.
