Fierberg Heads to Vegas to Clinch Championship

Defending Pacific Formula 2000 Expert Class Champion Ira Fierberg heads to the final round of the Pacific Formula 2000 Championship next week in Las Vegas with a virtually insurmountable points lead in the 2008 Expert Championship in his Personal Injury Law/Sparco USA sponsored Dave Freitas Racing Van Diemen-Ford.

The 2008 season, Fierberg's thirteenth year with Fullerton, CA based DFR, has been impressive. "With the help of our very talented driver coach, Dane Cameron, I have been pleased to be significantly quicker and much more consistent than last year at every track and we now have all but clinched our second consecutive Expert class championship and improved in the overall standings to 9th place in the Championship. I am pleased that we head to the last race in Vegas with a safe margin for the championship and can go race without concern for championship points. I hope to break the top 5 which remains our remaining unfulfilled goal from the year. I look forward to driving as hard as I can without any real worries about how it comes out, so how cool is that?"

Fierberg has also thrown out a challenge to his fellow drivers for the series' awards banquet following the second of the two Vegas races on Sunday. "I look forward to all the fun that Vegas offers which makes for a good event and an opportunity to finally party with new and old friends and really appreciate the wonderful people involved in the Pacific Formula 2000 family. I'm going to be wearing my pimp bright orange Dolce & Gabbana crocodile loafers to the banquet and I challenge the other guys to try to step up and top that".
