Roth to expand Indy Car team, add Lloyd

Marty Roth, a driver who owns a team that has competed in eight IndyCar Series races, was among those at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday to learn how Zionsville's Just Marketing Inc. can help IRL teams attract sponsors.

Roth is planning to expand his Indianapolis-based team to a full-time two-car operation beginning with the season-ending race at Chicagoland Speedway. He will drive one of the cars; the other is being held for the Indy Pro Series points leader, which at the moment is Alex Lloyd, who has won all five races.

Roth said drivers like Lloyd need a chance to show their skills at the next level.

"I've seen other (Pro Series) champions go nowhere, and that's unfortunate," he said. "I'd like to see them (move up), and I'm going to try to help. It's great for us, too, having another driver to work with."

Roth's team recently moved to a 10,000-square-foot facility on Rockville Road in Indianapolis. He said the two cars will have full-time engineers by the race at Chicagoland, something he never had in Indy-car racing. Indy Star
