IndyCar eyeing return to Cleveland?

In the heyday of CART Cleveland worked – note huge grandstands. But once Tony George started the IRL, split the sport and essentially killed it, the few fans that are left will not put up with substandard facilities.

According to this Racer.com article, there is a sponsor interested in sponsoring an IndyCar race again at Burke Lakefront airport and former promoter Mike Lanigan is interested.

However, unless they schedule it during a time of year that is not so oppressively hot and humid, the race will again fail for that very same reason.

You cannot put race fans in cheap, uncomfortable high school bleachers in the hot sun and humidity like they did before and expect them to return.
