IndyCar: Veekay tops Practice for GP of Alabama

With drivers spinning off left and right, Rinus Veekay put his Ed Carpenter Chevy at the top of the speed charts in the 2nd practice session for the Honda GP of Alabama.

Pato O’Ward put his Arrow McLaren 2nd fastest, just 0.0872s behind.

Colton Herta was 3rd quick for Andretti Autosport, ahead of Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin and the 2nd Andretti Honda of Romain Grosjean.

The longest Red Flag was for Alexander Rossi who ran out of talent in his #27 NAPA Honda, hit the Armco and careened back onto the track.

Rossi took off both ends of the #27 and his team has to now scramble to fix the significantly wadded up car before qualifying.

Qualifying is up next.
