F1: Williams makes it official – American Logan Sargeant will race in 2023 (Update)

See Williams tweet below that shows how Logan Sargeant made it to F1 as opposed to wasting time in IndyCar, which has proven to not be a good path to F1.

In fact, it is the other way around, those drivers spit out by F1 and have no chance for a ride, do eye IndyCar.

Williams Racing officially confirmed on Monday that Logan Sargeant will race for the team in the 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship after securing sufficient points following the final Formula 2 race in Abu Dhabi to qualify for a Super License.

Logan was crowned rookie of the year after finishing his Formula 2 season fourth in the championship with 148 points, taking two Feature race wins and two podiums in the process.

The Williams Academy driver completes the team’s line-up for the 2023 season alongside Alex Albon and will become the first American to compete in Formula 1 since 2015.

Since joining our Driver Academy at the end of 2021, Logan has been able to fully integrate with the team at Grove while on the simulator and more recently at track during the four Free Practice sessions he’s participated in.
