TV Rating Analysis

NASCAR (Down)

FS1 got a 1.28 rating and 2.203 million viewers for Sunday’s NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro won in dominating fashion by Kyle Larson. Those numbers are down  7.25% in rating and down 11.21% in viewership from a 1.38 and 2.481 million last year at Texas.

NASCAR lost 18% of its 18-49 year old viewers in a single year. Only 20% of the viewers tuned in were in that all-important age group as the fanbase ages out.

The Truck race moved from FS1 last year in Texas to FOX this year at North Wilkesboro.  As a result, the rating was up 93.33% and the viewership was up 95.85

IndyCar (Down)

NBC got a 0.56 rating and 842K viewers for Indy 500 pole position qualifying at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Those numbers are down 7.98% in viewership from a 0.56  and 915K last year, also on NBC.

IndyCar lost 29% of its 18-49 year old viewers in a single year. Only 15% of the viewers tuned in were in that all-important age group.

NHRA

The Route 66 NHRA finals in Chicago on FS1 got a 0.21 rating and 327K viewers. There was no race at Route 66 last year to compare it to.
