TV News: Weekend USA TV Ratings (Update)

The Motor Trend channel averaged 151,000 (down from the preliminary number of 161,000) viewers for this past weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France, up 49.5% from last year’s 101,000 average.

40,000 viewers tuned in were in the all-important 18-49 year old age group, or 26.5%

TV Ratings Analysis

NASCAR

FOX drew a TV rating of 1.65 and 2.912 million viewers for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Race at Sonoma. The previous year the race was broadcast on cable channel FS1 and drew 2.235 million viewers and a rating of 1.30, so, of course, this year was up 26.92% in ratings and 30.29% in viewership.

Only 18% of the viewers tuned in were in the all-important 18-49 year old age bracket.

The Xfinity cars replaced the Trucks at Sonoma this year, and as expected, drew about a 4.6% larger TV audience.

NHRA

The NHRA finals from Bristol Sunday moved from FOX last year to FS1 this year.  As a result, the TV ratings was down 66.67% and the number of TV viewers were down 64.67%.

Only 15% of the viewers tuned in were in the all-important 18-49 year old age bracket.
