IndyCar: Herta Runs Fastest in Saturday Morning Practice

The second practice session started with a few raindrops that did not stop Andretti Autosports’ Colton Herta from posting the fastest time of 1:00.5657 over his teammate Kyle Kirkwood.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Marcus Ericsson took the third position with a time of 1:00.6350 over his teammate and the Championship leader, Alex Palou, with a time of 1:00.6802.

Rounding out the top five, was Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward, with a time of 1:00.7054.

Arrow McLaren’s Felix Rosenqvist caused a red flag 40 minutes into the session by not stopping and making contact with the barrier in Turn 5. The Swede was seen and released by the infield care center.

MSR’s Tom Blomqvist ended up in the 27th position for this practice.

Rain is still predicted in the area for 2 pm, which would happen just before qualifying. Maybe it will miss the racetrack since we are dry at the moment.
