IMSA/WEC: Lamborghini SC63 LMDh test photos

The Lamborghini SC63 has completed its first true race-speed test in Italy ahead of its debut in WEC and IMSA next year.

Lamborghini’s new LMDh prototype underwent a shakedown at Vallelunga in early August before completing 1,500 km in a two-day session at Imola last Thursday and Friday.

Factory drivers Daniil Kvyat, Mirko Bortolotti and Andrea Caldarelli shared the wheel of the car that will be run by partner team Iron Lynx on both sides of the Atlantic. Missing from the test was newly hired factory driver Romain Grosjean who racing his #28 DHL IndyCar at IMS.

According to Lamborghini, the drivers worked through “a variety of calibrations” during the Imola test, with a focus on the bespoke 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.

Other tasks included calibration of the spec LMDh gearbox from Xtrac, along with brake migration, cooling, aerodynamics, traction control and the speed limiter.
