Rumor: Red Bull deliberately lost the Singapore GP

With so much criticism coming from crying Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes and Ferrari fans that Red Bull dominating F1 was ruining the sport, there are skeptics who think they deliberately lost the Singapore GP to give another team a chance to win

There was also pressure being put on Liberty Media and F1 to do something to stop Red Bull’s dominance.

Red Bull and its two drivers were already saying well before the Singapore GP they thought that race would be their most challenging, just about predicting defeat ahead of time.

Verstappen had broken the record consecutive win record with his 10 straight and likewise Red Bull with their 15 straight wins as a team, so Singapore was a good time to throw the other teams a bone.

Verstappen pounding the wheel in frustration during practice and he and teammate Sergio Perez saying the car was pretty much $hit may have all been a ruse.

Who won last years Singapore GP? Red Bull driver Sergio Perez – leading all the way.

Hmmm……

It should be noted that Max Verstappen was faster than all the leaders at the end of the race as the leaders battled for the win, so he had pace in hand when needed.

One more lap and Verstappen would have passed the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc for 4th place.  He was catching him at over 1-second per lap.

Red Bull started both drivers on hard tires, while the rest of the field was on mediums.  If Red Bull were intent on winning, they would have split the strategy and started one car on mediums.

They threw the other teams and their fans a one race bone to pacify them. Red Bull are already saying they expect to be back on top for the Japanese GP this coming weekend.
