Formula 1 News: Did the Red Bull RB20 really fail a crash test?

There is a rumor circulating in Italy out of Italy that Red Bull’s 2024 RB20 may have failed its first FIA crash test.

The rumor remains unconfirmed, it would not be the first time a new F1 car has failed the FIA’s dynamic frontal homologation crash test. Teams push the design limits to save weight.

If true, reflects Red Bull’s ambition to push their car design to the limits of what’s permissible under F1 regulations, a common practice amongst top teams striving for supremacy.

If true, the team must add strength and undertake a retest.

Red Bull will respond swiftly. If these speculations are true, it won’t be long until the car is back testing after a redesign, incorporating design changes to rectify the issues highlighted in the initial test.
