IndyCar News: Lundgaard Tops Session 4 at Thermal Club Power

Christian Lundgaard, the Rahal Letterman Lanigan No 45 entry, put his car in the fastest slot this afternoon at 1m38.2199s

Team Penske’s Will Power turned a lap of 1:38.6404 to earn the second fastest.

His teammate Scott McLaughlin took the third spot with a time of 1:38.7240.

Arrow McLaren’s Alexander Rossi took the fourth spot with a lap of 1:38.8104s, and his teammate, Pato O’Ward, rounded out the top five with a time of 1:38.8775.

Callum Ilott, the fastest in the morning practice and the third Arrow McLaren entry ended sixth on the timing chart with a lap of 1:38.882.

The session was delayed because of windy conditions, which the NTT INDYCAR SERIES had yet to experience during practice. In addition to the wind, the track temperature dropped during this session.

With all the changing conditions, figuring out the qualifying setup will be interesting.

Qualifying will start with Group 1 at 5 pm PDT and Group 2 at 5:23 pm.
