WEC News: Ferrari tops Cadillac in Practice 3 at Spa
The final free practice session for Saturday’s third round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship took place in warm and sunny conditions at Spa-Francorchamps this morning.

Ferrari re-took the top of the timing screens order as Antonio Fuoco took the #50 Ferrari AF Corse 499P Hypercar to the fastest lap of 2m00.596s in the 60-minute session at Spa
Fuoco’s lap proved to be 0.197s clear of the #38 Cadillac Hertz Team Jota entry with a lap of 2m00.793s by Earl Bamber
Cadillac Hertz Team Jota was third with the #12 Cadillac V.Series R as Alex Lynn posted the best time for the second gold car at 2m00.823s
The #83 AF Corse Ferrari took fourth position. A 2m01.205s lap via Robert Kubica saw the car continue a strong showing in all three free practice sessions

Brendon Hartley placed the #8 Toyota in fifth position as he and teammates Ryo Hirakawa and Sebastien Buemi look to repeat their 2021 success at Spa
But earlier Hirakawa spun the #8 Toyota Gazoo Racing Hypercar 20-minutes in to the session but the Japanese ace continued largely unaffected

Completing the top six was the #93 Peugeot TotalEnergies 9X8 as Jean-Eric Vergne set the best time of #2m01.597s to ensure the top six is separated by a mere 1.001s
The rest of the top ten at Spa reads as: 7th #7 Toyota; 8th #99 Proton Porsche; 9th #51 Ferrari AF Corse; 10th #35 Alpine

Simon Mann drove the VISTA AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3 car to top spot with an early lap of 2m17.831s

Second in category and continuing the strong pace shown on Thursday was the #88 Proton Competition Ford Mustang. A fast lap of 2m18.182s set by Giammarco Levorato added further optimism for the Ford Mustang squad as they chase a second podium after achieving a first at Le Mans last June
Akkodis ASP again sound a warning for a potential attempt at pole position later today as the #87 Akkodis ASP Lexus finishes in third position with Clemens Schmid stopping the clocks on a 2m18.676s
Fifth was the #10 Spirit of Leman Aston Martin as Eduardo Barrichello sets the fastest lap for the Swiss team making its WEC debut in 2025
The top six is completed by the #78 Akkodis ASP Lexus and the #46 Team WRT BMW with Arnold Robin and Ahmed Al Harthy setting the quickest laps
Al Harthy was involved in an incident at the end of the session as he suffered contact with the #51 Ferrari AF Corse driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi at Eau Rouge. The Omani driver suffered some damage and returned slowly to the pits
The #60 Iron Lynx Mercedes that was heavily damaged in an FP2 accident at Raidillon on Thursday afternoon did not take part in the session as the team continue to build-up and repair the all-new WEC LMGT3 design
Qualifying for the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps is scheduled to begin at 14.40 local time
